Re-evaluation – Opinion – The Red Brick Cafe

happinessWhen we were younger we were invincible.  We were going to be rich and own the world.  As we age ( I hesitate to say mature), we tend to look at things differently.  We tend to re-evaluate our belief systems and what we want out of life.  What we want when we are teens is remarkedly different from what we want in our 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and later.
Monetarily we want all we can get when we are young.  Later it is enough to support your family and pay the bills. Is this where you saw yourself five years ago? Ten years ago?  Why are things not as you imaged them?
It seems that we don’t actually stop and contemplate our lives until something life altering happens to us.  Most of us don’t even think about our lives until we have to.  We go through out days doing what is expected and leave fun and happiness by the wayside. Happiness doesn’t factor into our everyday lives because we are too busy with everything else.happiness2
What can we do to change this?  First we must focus on what we want from our lives.  So often we are doing things that are expected of us rather than what we truly want to be doing.  Do you like where your life is right now?  It is your choice to live that way.  If you don’t like it then change it.  It doesn’t have to be anything mind blowing; start meditating or exercising, start eating healthy, just change something that matters to you.
