Resolutions – Lifestyle – The Red Brick Cafe

resolutionsDid you make a New Year’s Resolution this year?  Is it still going, or has it been pushed to the back burner already? According to studies 35% of resolutions are broken by the end of January; 20% within the first week. Only 23% of resolutions are actually seen to completion (this number may actually not be as high as this).
Why does this happen every year?  The answer seems very straight forward; a lack of planning and preparation. People make resolutions without the foresight to figure out how they will be realized.  If you truly want to follow through with a resolution, (be it losing weight, eating better, exercising more) you must have a plan.change is good
Another problem is that people refuse to be flexible when making resolutions.  It almost seems that people have a succeed/fail mentality.  Without a mind open to flexibilty, you will find there are many things that will never be tried because you are scared to fail.
You will find many self-help blogs/books/forums that will tell you the BEST way to organize your life and follow through with the changes you want to make.  My advice is to look into what best suits you.  Just as we are not all cut from the same cloth, there will never be one program that works for everyone.  No program will work until you are in the right mind-set and are ready to move forward.
If you are still going on your New Year’s Resolutions then good for you!  If not, there is never a better time than the present to start making positive changes in your life.
Until next time……
